St. Patrick's Day Card

I decided I'd better get working on some St. Patrick's Day cards to send to the family, since it's coming up so quickly!  This was a quick and easy card to make.  The green card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  The kraft layer (from The Paper Company) is cut at 4" x 5 1/4", and the cream layer is 3 3/4" x 5".  I added a scrap of polka dotted patterned paper that I edged with the ekSuccess Bumpy Roads Edger Punch.

This adorable sentiment is from My Creative Time's I Believe in Leprechauns stamp set.  After stamping it onto the cream layer, I decided it still looked a little plain, so I ran this layer through my Cuttlebug with the Papertrey Ink Woodgrain Impression Plate.  It added just the right touch!

My Bingo card was made with one of my all time favorite My Creative Time stamp sets:  Anyday Bingo & Crossword.  I just love how this stamp set has an entire alphabet and lots of little images, such as this shamrock, that let you customize your Bingo card for any occasion.

I cut my shamrock from the Cricut Designer's Calendar cartridge at 1 3/4".  To dress it up, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Polka Dots embossing folders.  I also made a kraft button with the Papertrey Ink Buttoned Up #1 Die, and tied it with some twine.

Hope Card

I made this card for one of my Circle sisters who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  I'm hoping this will send a little encouragement to her!  This is an A2 size card with the brown layer cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  The pink layer is 4" x 5 1/4".  I printed a 5" x 7" rectangle of the pattern with my Imagine, using the All Wrapped Up cartridge.

To make my ribbon, I used my Gypsy to weld a 3.2" ribbon from the Cricut Designer's Calendar cartridge to a 5" x 3 3/4" rectangle.  I cut this from the patterned rectangle and adhered it to my card base.  I then heat embossed "Hope" from the My Creative Time Race For a Cure stamp set.

The flower is made up of three 3.35" flowers cut from Flower Shoppe and topped with a button and some twine.

St. Patty's Day Invite

Every year I have some family over for a traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner. It's one of our favorite traditions! I usually don't make invitations, but when I saw this stamp from My Creative Time's "I Believe in Leprechauns" stamp set, I couldn't resist! I'm entering this card into My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge: use any of the older cartridges and have a St. Patrick's Day theme.

This invitation is a postcard style; I'll just write the info on the back. I made my polka-dotted paper using Spring Moss Ink and the "Polka Dot Basics" stamp set from Papertrey Ink. My pot, cut at 2.6" from the From My Kitchen cartridge, was created on the Imagine using a pattern from the Imagine More cartridge. I printed an extra square of that pattern to use for my die cut button. The little shamrock was cut at 0.7" from Designer's Calendar. Lastly, I heat embossed gold embossing powder for my sentiment.

Have a Sham-rockin' Day!

One of my new Papertrey Ink stamp sets is the Bitty Background Blocks. They are cute little background squares that can be stamped on the square die from the Button Card Collection. To make my shamrock out of these, I first die cut 9 of the squares and then stamped them with 3 different backgrounds in New Leaf ink. After inking around the edges, I lined them up on a brand new Cricut mat (I don't think it would have worked with an older mat, using these small squares). Once on the mat, they made a square that was about 4 1/2", letting me cut a 4" shamrock from Designer's Calendar. I then cut the shadow in green and glued all of the little pieces onto it.

For my sentiment, I cut a piece from the Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 4. Using a sentiment from My Creative Time's "I Believe in Leprechauns", I stamped it with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Craft Junkie Too Design Team Project: Fall is in the Air

Here is my latest design team project for Craft Junkie Too. We were asked to make a "Fall is in the Air" project, and it had to be something that could be hung. This really forced me to think out of the box, as I had never made any home decor before.

I decided to make a hanging plaque to celebrate the Thanksgiving season. I began with a wooden plaque from Michael's and used Mod Podge (another first for me) to adhere brown patterned paper from the DCWV Autumn Splendor Stack. The Mod Podge is really easy to work with, if you haven't tried it before.

Next I cut "grateful" and its shadow in Core'dinations Cardstock, using the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge. The cream shadow looked too plain to me, so I covered it with text from Papertrey Ink's "Background Basics: Text Style II" in PTI Spring Moss Ink. The leaves are cut from PTI Distressed Dots Patterned Paper, using Gypsy Wanderings and Designer's Calendar, and they are inked around the edges with PTI Chai Ink. I cut the pumpkins from Create a Critter in Core'dinations Cardstock, and then I ran the orange layer through the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder. The final touch was some PTI Vintage Buttons and Rustic Jute Button Twine. The plaque is hung with some "Celebrate It" Ribbon, which is hot glued to the back.

Autumn Splendor Color Challenge

This is my entry for the Cricut Circle's Weekly Challenge #3: Autumn Splendor Color Challenge. We were asked to incorporate gray, orange, tan, and burgundy into a project with lots of texture. Here is my entry for the Cricut Circle's first weekly challenge. We had to use two cuts from French Manor and add some bling. The French Manor cuts on this card are the bird bath, cut at 2 3/4", and the scalloped oval, cut at 1 3/4". The tree is from Paper Doll Dress Up, cut at 5", and the leaves are from Designer's Calendar, cut at 1". The grass is from Plantin Schoolbook, cut at 1".

I had so much fun creating this haunted house for my classroom! I brought it into school yesterday, and my 2nd and 3rd graders loved it. Of course, they think they should all get to make one as well. :-) I used Happy Hauntings and cut the house at 11", which created a 20" haunted house! The black paper for the house came from 12" x 24" Provo Craft cardstock, and the windows were created with Papertrey Ink vellum. The rest of the papers are from Core'dinations or are Papertrey Ink cardstock. All of the sentiments (Eeeek!, Happy Halloween!, Boo!, and Trick or Treat) are from the My Pink Stamper Spooky Puns stamp set, stamped with Papertrey Ink True Black ink.
