If you saw yesterday's post, I shared some pictures of the road trip that Eric and I just took with my parents. It was really an incredible trip, full of memories that will last forever, and I wanted to make a card thanking my parents for this experience. This card was made with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock, folded in half, so I was able to include plenty of images that represent our trip.
The whole reason that we went on the trip was for a family reunion in Michigan. Since we spent a weekend on Lake Michigan, with all of the little cousins building sand castles, I had to include a bucket and shovel. They are cut from the Life Is A Beach Cricut cartridge, at 2".
You can't have a road trip card without a car on it. This one is from Campin' Critters, cut at 2 1/2". I added a couple of Imaginisce Glam Rocks on the front of it. The gas pump is from Pop-Up Neighborhood, cut at 5". I had to include it, because it represents one of our funniest memories of this trip. My dad decided not to get gas in Salt Lake City, because it was too expensive. He was sure it would be cheaper in Wyoming. Well, the gas light came on, and there were no gas stations in sight. We just made it to one in Wyoming, where the gas was 11 cents MORE expensive! He'll never live that one down.
When you drive across the country, there is plenty corn to see, so I had to include that. I cut it from Pop-Up Neighborhood at 3". Probably the most amazing thing we saw was a herd of buffalo in Custer State Park. As we were filming them, they came right on to the roadway! I cut this buffalo from Destinations at 1 3/4".
Lastly, I created my title by welding together 1" letters from Nate's ABCs. A card full of memories!
