Monday Madness... Imagine That!

Today Emma and part of the My Creative Time design team are pulling out their Imagines or patterned paper!  Anything goes today, so I decided to make a wedding card for a colleague who got married this summer.  This gal is a little unconventional (she went off and got married in a small ceremony without telling any of us beforehand), so I thought my unconventional colors would work out fine.

I began by printing my text background from the Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge.  On the top right of this picture you can see how this pattern prints on white cardstock.  I wanted something a little different, so I took the aqua cardstock on the bottom right.  When I printed it,  I got the look on the left!  I printed a 6" square, but ended up trimming it down to a 5 1/2" square.  The black layer is a 5 3/4" square, and the card base is a 6" square.

I also used my Imagine to print polka dots from the Black & White cartridge on some purple cardstock, and ended up using that to cut a layer for my car.  The car is cut at 4" from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge.  After assembling all of the layers, I put some glossy accents on the heart on the license plate.

My beautiful sentiment is from the My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set, and I stamped it on paper that I die cut and stamped with the Fancy Frames Stamp & Die Set.  I love how so many sentiments from many of Emma's stamp sets fit in this pretty frame.  Click here for ordering information.

Video: How to Cache a Pattern on the Imagine

In a post the other day, I mentioned that I had cached a pattern with my Imagine. I received several questions about how to do this, so I decided to make a quick video. If the above card looks familiar, that's because it's the Father's Day card I posted a few weeks ago. Today I cached a pattern from Lori's Garden and used it to make a coordinating envelope from All Wrapped Up.

World's Greatest Dad

Good morning! Here is my design team project for Creative Critterz Imaginations for this week. My dad is a big hiker, so I thought this would be a fun card to make for him for Father's Day. I began by printing the cuts below. The square is 4" and flood-filled with the cloud pattern from Best Friends. The circles are cut at 3.5" and 4", flood-filled with a pattern from Lori's Garden. Finally, my moose hiker (shown already assembled) was cut at 3.5", flood-filled with colors from the Imagine.

This card is A2 size, so I cut my brown cardstock at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored it at 5 1/2". The yellow cardstock is 4" x 5 1/4". To make my little scene, I trimmed the cloud paper to be 3 3/4" in width and adhered it to the yellow cardstock. I then lay my circle hills on top of that and marked with a pencil where I wanted to trim them.

My sentiment is from My Creative Time's "You're My Best Buddy" stamp set. I stamped it onto more of the yellow cardstock, which I cut with a Papertrey Ink die. I used the same stamp set for the inside.

A Quick Thank You

You can never have too many thank you notes in your stash! For my design post for Creative Critterz Imaginations this week, I made a simple thank you note with my Imagine. The patterns and colors are all from the Lori's Garden cartridge. My flower was cut at 3.5" from Forever Young and run through several different Cuttlebug folders. For the patterned rectangles, I used a rectangle from Designer's Calendar, estimating the size I would need, and then just cut them down a bit to fit my card. The larger pink pattern is cut at 4" x 5 1/4", and the text pattern is cut at 3 1/4" x 5".

Valentine Heart Tree

My mom has had this silver tree for years, but she decided that she didn't want it anymore. She kept the ornaments that came with it, but I gladly took the tree, thinking it could have many uses throughout the year. My first project with it is this Valentine heart tree that I made for my Creative Critterz Imaginations design team project.

All of my hearts were printed on the Imagine and cut at 3". For each one, I printed and cut the base and layers regularly and in the "flip horizontally" mode. In this way, I was able to create double sided-hearts.

I went through my Cricut cartridges and just picked hearts that I liked. I used the Accent Essentials, Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art, Sweethearts, and Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridges.

For the patterns, I chose the ones that I liked for Valentine's Day from the Imagine More, Lori's Garden, Imagine More Cards, and Best Friends Imagine cartridges.

Finally, I added some button accents on some of the hearts and used twine to attach all of them to the tree. Be sure to stop by Creative Critterz Imaginations to see all of the other projects that my teammates have created this week!

Here's another card with Lori's Garden. Isn't this bird the cutest? I cut it at 2.7". I also used Don Juan to cut a rectangle flood filled with a pattern from Lori's Garden for the background.

Thank You with Lori's Garden

My Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge finally arrived yesterday! When I originally saw images from this one online, I wasn't too excited, but I wasn't going to turn down a free cartridge. However, I absolutely love it! There are lots of pretty images and gorgeous patterns. Surprisingly, there are a lot of patterns that would be great for masculine cards, in shades of brown, blue, and green.

I also received my Papertrey Ink order today with some felt and dies, so I wanted to incorporate those into my design. I've been seeing hummingbirds a lot lately, so I had to use one with the felt flowers. I'm entering this card into My Pink Stamper's Imagine-Nation Challenge.
