Monday Madness... Imagine That!

Today Emma and part of the My Creative Time design team are pulling out their Imagines or patterned paper!  Anything goes today, so I decided to make a wedding card for a colleague who got married this summer.  This gal is a little unconventional (she went off and got married in a small ceremony without telling any of us beforehand), so I thought my unconventional colors would work out fine.

I began by printing my text background from the Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge.  On the top right of this picture you can see how this pattern prints on white cardstock.  I wanted something a little different, so I took the aqua cardstock on the bottom right.  When I printed it,  I got the look on the left!  I printed a 6" square, but ended up trimming it down to a 5 1/2" square.  The black layer is a 5 3/4" square, and the card base is a 6" square.

I also used my Imagine to print polka dots from the Black & White cartridge on some purple cardstock, and ended up using that to cut a layer for my car.  The car is cut at 4" from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge.  After assembling all of the layers, I put some glossy accents on the heart on the license plate.

My beautiful sentiment is from the My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set, and I stamped it on paper that I die cut and stamped with the Fancy Frames Stamp & Die Set.  I love how so many sentiments from many of Emma's stamp sets fit in this pretty frame.  Click here for ordering information.

"Just a Note" Style Card

Sadly, it just wasn't in the budget for me to purchase the new Cricut Expression 2, and I LOVE the "Just a Note" cartridge that is included in it. I was so bummed to hear that it wouldn't ever be sold separately. However, after looking at cards people have made with it, I realized that I could make this style card on my Gypsy! I just needed to weld together some rectangles and shapes that I wanted to include. I decided to try it for a little card for a friend/teammate. Her birthday is on Saturday, and the rest of the 3rd grade team and I decided we would celebrate it during our planning time on Monday. We didn't want her to feel like we forgot her birthday, so we're giving this card to her today to let her know our plan. "Save the Date" is from the Sweethearts cartridge. I welded it to my card base and cut it again in patterned paper for a layer.

My party hat is from Straight From the Nest. Again, I welded it to the card base and then also cut it with all of its layers. Before putting it down, I added the green polka-dotted rectangle.

Finally, the center rounded part of my card is actually a liner from a Wild Card envelope. I adjusted the width and height to make it just the right size. I added more polka-dotted paper, and some plain cardstock for my message. I also die cut a felt flower and a tag with some PTI supplies to dress up this layer a bit.

My Creative Time Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Creative Time blog hop, showcasing Emma's brand new stamps! Today I am showcasing the "Fun Borders" stamp set. This is such a cute one! I stamped my border on a light blue background four times with Versamark and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I think this makes a fun homemade patterned paper!

Next I made a 3.5" pocket card using the Sweethearts cartridge. I ran the envelope through the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug folder and embellished it with champagne glasses cut at 2.5" from Sweethearts. For my pull-out sentiment, I used another new stamp set from My Creative Time, "My One and Only". Because this is one long stamp, and I needed something shorter for my little card, I stamped each word separately, covering the unwanted word with scotch tape when I inked it up.

Throwback Thursday Challenge: Just Because Cards

Valentine Heart Tree

My mom has had this silver tree for years, but she decided that she didn't want it anymore. She kept the ornaments that came with it, but I gladly took the tree, thinking it could have many uses throughout the year. My first project with it is this Valentine heart tree that I made for my Creative Critterz Imaginations design team project.

All of my hearts were printed on the Imagine and cut at 3". For each one, I printed and cut the base and layers regularly and in the "flip horizontally" mode. In this way, I was able to create double sided-hearts.

I went through my Cricut cartridges and just picked hearts that I liked. I used the Accent Essentials, Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art, Sweethearts, and Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridges.

For the patterns, I chose the ones that I liked for Valentine's Day from the Imagine More, Lori's Garden, Imagine More Cards, and Best Friends Imagine cartridges.

True Love Lasts Forever

With my new My Creative Time's "You Had Me At Chocolate" stamp set and my Sweethearts cartridge, I'm on a roll with my Valentine's Day cards! This is an A7 size card. The card base is cut at 10 x 7 1/8", scored at 5". The pink layer is 4 3/4" x 6 7/8". To make an "indoor scene", I cut the striped "wallpaper" at 4" x 4 1/2". This was slightly overlapped by the white cardstock, which was cut at 3" x 4 1/2" and run through the Stripes Cuttlebug folder.

The couple at the table is cut from Sweethearts at 4 1/4". I ran the woman's shirt through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

The oval frame for my sentiment is from French Manor. I used my Gypsy to hide the circles that would be cut out of it and cut it once at 2.23" x 0.43" and once at 2.36" x 0.49". I just love the font for Emma's My Creative Time stamps! Click here for ordering information.

I used my Kreate-a-Lope to create my A7 size envelope from the Recollections "All Girl" paper pad. Those thick pads of thin patterned paper work great with the Kreate-a-Lope. It's also a bargain: I can make 180 envelopes for $9.00!

Wobble Head Puppy Valentine with Video

Back in December, Sarah, over at Live, Love, and Scrap, made the cutest Christmas card with a Wobble head Santa. When I saw this puppy on the Sweethearts cartridge, I just knew I had to do something similar. For those of you who haven't heard, Action Wobbles are now for sale on their website. I ordered a batch of 100, so now I don't feel like I need to hoard my samples anymore. The cute sentiment on this card is from My Creative Time's "You Had Me At Chocolate" stamp set. This is my 3rd post today! I just had to play with my new stamps! Scroll down to see my Creative Critterz Imaginations post and how to order Action Wobbles.

Okay, can I just tell you how much I love these "My Creative Time" stamps? They stamp so nicely, and Emma used the cutest fonts! I made this card using the ladybug from the Birthday Bash cartridge, cut at 4". She's supposed to be holding the number 4, but I decided to give her a heart to make her part of a Valentine's Day card. The heart is cut at 2" from the Sweethearts cartridge. I used Emma's "You Had Me At Chocolate" set for the sentiment. Here is a picture of all of the stamps from this set and a link to order yours.

Engagement Card & Fun News!

Let's start off with the fun news: I've been chosen to be on Emma's design team at My Creative Time! I'm very excited to start playing with her brand new, adorable stamps! You can see and order them here.

Today's card is my entry to My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge. For this project, we were asked to use any older cartridge and to use a heart on it. The P.E. teacher at my school just got engaged, so I decided to make this card for her using the Sweethearts cartridge. Can you believe I got this cartridge at Michael's for $9.99 the other day? The sale runs through Sunday, so get over there quickly to see if there are any left!

The adorable couple on this card is cut out at 4 1/2". I didn't have any engagement sentiments out of all of my stamps, so I printed the sentiment from my computer. I then used the Center Point button on the Cricut to cut out the little label at 1 3/4". I cut it again at 2" for the shadow, since the actual shadow wasn't much bigger than the original.
